Site Guide
Accessibility
ChinatownMenu.com is intended to be readable, searchable, and usable across desktop and mobile devices, including by readers using assistive technology.
Current practices
| Area | Approach |
|---|---|
| Text | Pages use HTML text rather than image-only content. |
| Navigation | Pages include headings, internal links, a skip link, search, and a site index. |
| Mobile | Layouts are mobile-first and avoid requiring horizontal scrolling for normal reading. |
| Contrast | The design uses high-contrast text on light backgrounds. |
| Images and maps | Visual features are intended to support, not replace, written explanations. |
| Advertisements | Advertisements are labeled and should collapse when unfilled. |
Known limits
The site is static and may contain complex tables, maps, pronunciation tools, and third-party advertising scripts. Some third-party content may not provide the same level of accessibility as the core site.
